At its base, the dam is 200 metres wide (equivalent to the length of 2 football pitches). It becomes narrower towards the top, and is only 15 metres wide at the crest of the dam.

Walk the 700-metre crest linking the two slopes of the Dix Valley. The crest of the dam is accessible either on foot (approx. 45 minutes) or by cable car.
